Your Hosts, Dianne & Rod…..

We have been living and working seasonally in France together for around fifteen years.  We have been fortunate enough to work in some of Europe’s best resorts, including Chamonix, La Plagne, Tignes, Val d’Isere and of course, Les Deux Alpes.  Hills and mountains are a big part of our lives, and we enjoy returning to our Highland home in the Cairngorm National Park in between seasons.

Dianne is passionate about cooking and has honed her skills cooking for chalet parties in the alps, shooting parties in the Highlands, and for North American visitors in the family business back in Scotland.  Dianne did her first ever season in Les Deux Alpes as a summer chambermaid when she was a student. A few years later, together with Rod, they opened a very popular bar, The Boom Boom, in L2A which they ran until 1996. After the bar, Rod dedicated his time to ski instructing and Dianne spent most of the last ten years working for chalet companies, latterly as Alpine Manager for a large tour operator.

Rod is a full time ski instructor during the winter, and also runs summer courses on the Les Deux Alpes glacier.  He was brought up near Aviemore, where he learned to ski, and is a top qualified BASI instructor, holding the prestigious full French Equivalence.  Dianne is also a qualified ski instructor (ISIA BASI).

The final member of our team is our wee dog; she is a friendly old dog, and naturally is not allowed in the guest bedrooms or kitchen.
